- Abstract
- Principles of operation of electrocaloric and magnetocaloric coolers and the modern state of art of this methods of refrigeration are discussed. Thermodynamic parameters of new type of electrocaloric cooler that operate without heat switches are studied. It was shown that at special conditions the theoretical coefficient of performance can reach COP of the Carnot cycle.
