- Abstract
- Sorption of polyethylene glycol of the various molecular weights from water solutions on the birch activated carbon have been examined and abrasion strength and grindability of the received materials are defined. Sorption of the modified sorbents of bivalent ions of (Cu+2, Pb+2) and of mineral oil from water solutions on the birch activation carbon with polyethylene glycol was also analyzed. It was shown that complexing of polyethylene glycol occurs with metal ions with the formation of bond with oxygen of ethylene monomer link oxide occurs. It was established that applied polyethylene glycol coating considerably increases abrasion strength and grundability of the birch activated carbon and insignificantly reduces sorption capacity. Sorption of impurities has insignificant influence on mechanical properties of received product.
