- Abstract
- For reduction of deterioration of lining at the bottom electrodes area the parameters of nonstationary electrovortical flow pattern in the bath melt at DC arc furnace when arc current is switched on and switched off are considered. Appearance and motion of electrovorticals at the bottom electrode area are analyzed, similarity of transient and characteristic time of performance of electrovortical flow patterns are determined. Recommendations on selection parameters of current control at the furnace with two bottom electrodes, which can be used in working units as well as in reengineering and new furnaces are proposed.
