- Abstract
- The mathematical model of electrovortical currents in a smelting bath of the arc furnace of a constant current is offered. The model includes the equations Navye-Stocks for isothermal axisymmetric movement of electrically conducting liquid in view of volumetric electromagnetic forces and equation of indissolubility. A computer program on the basis of mathematical model allows to receive for chosen geometry of a bath, sizes of a bottom electrode and current of an arch, the non-stationary or established characteristics of smelting current. The software is created for the experts of the industrial enterprises and designers. With its help it is possible to analyze arising electrovortical corrents, both in working units, and to predict their behaviour in furnaces under reconstruction and in new ones.
