- Abstract
- The well-known determinations of term "reaction sintering" are being discussed. Preference is given to I. Ja. Gusman's determination which include feature of absence of shrinkage during burning. It is offered to accept as "reaction sintering" some of technologies based on reactions with negative volume changes. For example synthesis of porous SiC material based on reaction SiS + CS = SiC. New technologies which can be interpreted as "reacting sintering" are reviewed.
