- Abstract
- The paper presents and discusses a procedure for design and experimental control of dimensionally-stable CFRP tubes. The procedure includes the following steps: design and fabrication of test specimens with specified structures, experimental study of the properties of the specimens, identification of the characteristics of unidirectional plies constituting composite laminates and design analysis. The design analysis includes the investigation of the sensitivity of dimensionally-stable structures and experimental control of predicted optimal structures. Special features of each step of the proposed procedure are discussed by the example of CFRP specimens. Design parameters are obtained for several dimensionally-stable structures, and the comparative analysis of the structures is given.
