- Metastable alloys are of special interest for nanostructure processing because of possibility to forming non-equilibrium structure states and to enhance some properties due to not only structure refinement but also phase composition changes. Severe plastic deformation technique by equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) was applied to fabricate bulk nanostructured billets that are very promising for industrial application. Example of investigations of metastable ultrafine-grained alloys Al-5 mas. % Fe, CP Ti and intermetallic Pr12Fe14B processed by ECAP method are presented.
