- Abstract
- The conglomerates are thought to react slower to changing business environment trend than their smaller competitors caused by inner rigidity of business processes. The authors suppose that the solution to this issue lay in the enterprise architecture (EA) area and present the new fragment of real-time cloud business architecture model (RBA) (Gromoff et al, 2012). The authors claim they found a new source of Competitive Advantage (CA) in business agility governing the outsourced "best-of-breed" standardized processes (e.g. having agreed interface connectors) that could be quickly included to business architecture without launching an IT project. The business abilities will be included not in business transactions themselves but in an enhanced and optimized business logic (orchestration of business processes). The research implications could be used by CIOs to increase business flexibility (e.g. reaction time to changing customer demand), upgrade strategic (B/IT) alignment and to underline the necessity of the cloud solutions in their enterprise architecture.
