- Abstract
- Using severe plastic deformation (SPD) ultrafine-grained (UFG) structures can be formed in metallic materials: this can lead to emergence of new properties in these materials. The paper presents the results of the recent investigations on development of equal-channel angular (ECA), pressing for fabrication of ultrafine-grained materials. The main attention is focused on two aspects: modelling and experimental works of ECA pressing aimed at formation of uniform ultrafine-grained structures in bulk large-sized billets, as well as search for optimum parameters of processing and microstructural features leading to new properties.
