- Abstract
- The brief characterization of the methods of composites fabrication by casting the materials in a semisolid state including rheocasting and thixocasting as well as their modifications - rheomoulding and thixomoulding was presented. New technical approaches to realizing the processes of semisolid materials processing were proposed, in particular methods of rheocompacting and thixocompacting were considered. The possibilities to produce the composites of different types by these methods including single-component composites in which the structural elements have the same composition but different crystalline structure and two-component composites in which the structural elements consist of different materials were demonstrated.
