- Abstract
- Effect of yttrium oxide on properties and sintering of ceramic materials on synthetic mullite basis was investigated. Initial powders were synthesized by sol-gel method and corresponded to oxides ratio (3-x)Al2O3×xY2O3×2SiO2, where {0 £ х < 0.3}. Ceramics was sintered to nonporous state at 1350 °С in 2 hours. Significant increase of samples strength was observed in values range 0.025 < х < 0.08, that is bound up with peculiarity of yttrium distribution in ceramics microstructure at various compositions.
