- Abstract
- Plasma JSC has analyzed the disadvantages of pulsed X-ray tubes in glass-metal performance made by Svetlana - X-ray Ltd., St. Petersburg, and as a result has developed a series of X-ray tubes with improved X-ray technical characteristics. There was determined the optimum balance of dimensions and geometrical shape of the parts of pulsed metal-ceramics tubes that provide the best characteristics: small size of focal spot (about 1mm), quite high exposure dose of X-ray radiation per pulse which is needed to provide qualitative control of the defects in metal constructions, long lifetime with minimal warranty life about 106-107 pulses in the specified operation mode. There was developed new generation design of X-ray tube with the use of cathode as the material with nanocluster structure based on carbon which provides intense beam of soft X-ray radiation which is needed for creating contrast image in the medium of variable optical density, i.g. during medical examination of human health.
