- Abstract
- This article describes the strategic decision-making support information system. The objects of the system design are pharmaceutical companies present of Russian market. The key component of the information system is dynamic pharmaceutical market equilibrium model designed by the author using system dynamics and agent-based modeling methodologies. Implemented in simulation software, the model is capable of predicting price and sales volumes of 30 000 drugs. A major advantage of the model is the accounting of state regulation specific for Russian pharmaceutical market - price limitation for specific drug types which are in life-necessary and important drugs list. Simulation model is integrated with data warehouse specifically designed to load and analyze various information about economic agent activities, including drug manufacturers, state consumers. The data warehouse was populated with a large set of sales data for each drug and region for 5 year period to calibrate and test the model.
