- Abstract
- We suggest a universal approach to design of Ni- and Ti - base high-temperature alloys fabricated by powder metallurgy (PM). We assume that under given structural conditions the strength characteristics of high-temperature alloys are mainly determined by interatomic bonding given by the cohesive strength in the matrix phase and grain boundaries. The data calculated are used for design of a new generation high-temperature Ni- base (NGK-6) and Ti-base (ST6U) alloys fabricated by PM. Mechanical testing of new NGK-6 and ST6U alloys confirms that its high-temperature mechanical properties are indeed superior to those of existing PM alloys EP741NP and VT18U.
