- Abstract
- Comparative effectiveness of multiwalled and sandwich CFRP shells for modules of launch vehicles and upper stages was discusses. The analysis is conducted for a typical real compartment of the upper stage, as well as for the total class of compartments different in loading conditions and requirements to the weight of bearing shells. It was shown that multiwalled structure is more effective than the sandwich one in the considered range of loads and shell mass, although in some cases their effectiveness were similar.
