- Abstract
- The article discusses technology aspects of pre-sealing procedures, as well as technologies that enable manufacturing of large-sized and complex geometry products from carbon-carbon composite materials, using thermal-gradient method of preform infiltration with pyrolytic carbon. It was demonstrated that using the approach of fragmentation and consecutive preform solidification enables not only thermal-gradient infiltration with pyrolytic carbon of preforms with protruding structural elements, but also allows elimination of work-pieces machining, using complex machining equipment.
