- Abstract
- The article presents the result of modeling the decimation process using three types of filters as low-pass filters (LPF). This article provides numerical evaluations of the hardware costs for the implementation of filters with finite, infinite (FIR), (IIR) impulse response, as well as cascade integrated-comb (CIC) filters for the decimation of frequency-modulated signals. This article show that CIC filters in combination with compensating FIR filters are preferable for hardware costs, while they are not inferior to classical FIR filters in the main parameter responsible for the non-distortion of the processed signal-linearity of the phase-frequency characteristic. Modeling and comparative evaluation of filters is illustrated by the example of decimation of a signal of practical importance.
