- Abstract
- The influence of defects of mechanical processing of the surface of a sample made of alloy D16T on its strain hardening in tension in the range of applied stresses from 50 to 500 MPa was investigated. For this purpose, the methods of scanning contact potentiometry and the method of thermal neutron diffraction were used. It is shown that in the region of elastic deformation at a stress of 50 MPa, the defects of inter-machining, as in the case of zero load, are concentrated, strongly at the same time, in the middle and along the edges of the sample. Traces of turning and grinding of the surface in the form of corresponding spots and stripes on potentiograms, at loads of more than 50 MPa at high levels of fixation, are transformed into separate reflexes 1-2 mm in size, which are local areas of the strain-hardened material, emitting mechanical stress waves.
