- Abstract
- This article presents the results of research on the possibility of obtaining a composite material for thermal insulation purposes when using ash from burning wood waste as a filler and secondary polystyrene obtained by dissolving waste products from expanded polystyrene in methylene chloride as a binder. The preparation of the building material under development involves cold mixing of the filler with a binder solution and cold pressing followed by heat treatment to remove the solvent. The article presents dependences that allow us to evaluate the influence of the ratio of polymer and solvent in the composition of the raw mixture and the amount of filler in the composition of the material on its main operational characteristics. The composition of the raw material mixture was selected to obtain a material that meets the regulatory requirements for thermal insulation and finishing fiberboard, for which the material being developed is an alternative analogue.
