- Abstract
- The article is devoted to the study of the influence of technical features of tanks, their operating modes and bitumen terminal technology on the total annual emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere. Calculation of losses from breathing and working losses was performed according to the American method AP42. It has been established that the main source of pollution is the working losses that occur during the filling and emptying of tanks. The design of the tank and its type have an impact on the breathing losses that occur during the bitumen heating process, and the use of vertical tanks as day tanks is preferable from the point of view of reducing pollution. The key factor in ensuring the "environmental friendliness" of the bitumen terminal is the technology adopted at the plant, so the technologies of internal heating system Kupol, due to a significant reduction in the cycles of filling and emptying the tank and providing the possibility of supplying bitumen by gravity from one tank to another, allow to reduce 6 or more times total emissions from the tank farm.
