- Abstract
- The article analyzes the current geoecological situation in the city of Murmansk in winter. The main sources of atmospheric air pollution and the main pollutants have been identified. Natural and climatic factors that exacerbate the anthropogenic impact and cause deterioration of the environment are considered. The results of ecological and geochemical studies of the snow cover in the city of Murmansk to identify pollution with dust particles in connection with the activities of industrial enterprises and transport are presented. There is an excess of the background concentration of solid dust particles in almost all samples from 2 to 30 times, on average for all samples - 10 times. A comparative analysis of the content of organic matter in snow water showed a significant presence of coal dust in the composition of solid particles contained in snow samples. Quantitative data have been obtained showing that the increase in the amount of coal dust in the samples is directly proportional to the distance to the port. The largest amount of dust per unit area was found in functional areas: industrial, transport infrastructure, multi-storey housing development and is located in the central and north-eastern parts of the city.
