- Abstract
- The liner of a metal-composite tank is considered as an isotropic cylindrical shell located in a rigid environment modeling the outer composite layer. The shell is loaded with axial compressive force so that it can lose stability. Using equations of nonlinear theory of cylindrical shells and Bubnov-Galerkin method an approximate solution which specifies the critical compressive axial deformation of the shell is obtained.
