- Abstract
- This article presents the results of a study of the possibility of reducing the water absorption of wood-polymer material based on waste due to impregnation of wood filler with technical linseed oil. The filler in the studied material is waste of soft wood varieties, and the binder is obtained as a result of dissolving waste products from expanded polystyrene in methylene chloride. The material samples were obtained by mixing a filler pre-impregnated with technical linseed oil with a binder solution, cold pressing of the raw mixture and subsequent heat treatment to remove the solvent. The quantities of wood filler and additives have been established, at which the maximum reduction of water absorption is possible while maintaining the remaining properties at the level of regulatory requirements for fiberboard.
