- Abstract
- A technique has been developed for an approximate rapid assessment of high-cycle fatigue resistance of structural elements made of polymer composite materials. The object of the study is a typical shell with stiffeners made of carbon fiber laminate. The technique is based on the application of the infrared thermography method. The obtained values of the fatigue limit are in good agreement with the results of standard fatigue tests. The developed technique makes it possible to significantly reduce the duration and cost of fatigue tests.
