- Abstract
- The article considers one of the most topical issue of the definition of aerodynamic characteristics of high-speed rotary-shaped re-entry vehicles (RVs) with weak composite thermal protective surface distortions of spherical blunting - the issue of the evaluation of aerodynamic forces and moments. The quantitative evaluations of the influence of the mentioned distortions with account for the interference on coefficients of aerodynamic normal force and pitch moment for Mach number M∞ = 6, 10, 20 are obtained on the basis of the analysis of resulted computations of supersonic flow around a 10°-cone with the given distortion of sphere blunting. The computations are based on Euler equations for perfect gas with adiabatic index k = 1.4, k = 1.2 and a modeled equilibrium dissociating air, the cone length is up to 100 units of the blunting radius. The obtained results are analyzed to estimate the level of the influence of interference.
