- Abstract
- In this article attention is drawn to the importance of the algorithm for deciding an alarm triggered for the effectiveness of the radiation monitor. We have analyzed the following well-known algorithms for radiation monitors: the Neyman-Pearson criterion, the method of moving average, the likelihood ratio test, the method of digital IIR filter, the method of a priori probability, the method of half-sums and the method of relative dispersion. For these algorithms the major differences between implementations have been given. The article reveals the characteristic function of the radiation detection unit with a monitor mounted on a movable platform, and provides the basic requirements for such an algorithm of the monitor. In the final part of our workit is resulted an algorithm for processing data for radiation detection unit with a monitor mounted on a movable platform, and proved its effectiveness.
