- Abstract
- The patterns of changes in the composition and properties of river water as it moves along the channel of the little-developed Katun River are compared. It is shown that the homogeneity of the characteristics of most of the analysed parameters is well preserved during the time of water run-up for several hours between the stations separated by 43 km, and significantly decreases after several days (between the stations of 400 km). This inheritance effect is of both theoretical interest for understanding the nature of variability in water composition and properties and practical interest for improving the accuracy of hydrochemical forecasting.
