- Abstract
- A comparative analysis of the potential accuracy of measuring the angular coordinate of a radar target with discrete and linear scanning of the antenna beam is carried out. Based on the truthfulness function introduced for two positions of the antenna beam and the Kramer-Rao expression, a formula for the variance of the angular coordinate estimate is obtained. An approximation of the shape of the antenna pattern is proposed. The results of calculations are presented, showing that with discrete scanning of the antenna beam, it is possible to achieve a higher accuracy of measuring the angular coordinate than with linear scanning.
