- Abstract
- The study is devoted to the analysis of spatial and temporal dynamics of atmospheric air pollution in the Donetsk People's Republic for 2019-2024 using data from the Sentinel-5P satellite mission. Based on the calculation of the atmospheric pollution index (API), key regularities have been identified: a stable pollution trend with peaks in the southern industrial clusters (Donetsk-Makeyevka agglomeration, Mariupol) and seasonal fluctuations with peaks in the winter-spring period. It was found that the interannual dynamics of API reflects the influence of socio-economic and geopolitical drivers, including the recovery of industry after COVID-19 and the reduction of emissions during the special military operation period. The results are compared with global trends, demonstrating the similarity of seasonal cycles and the uniqueness of regional conditions.
