- Abstract
- The influence of hydrothermal conversion parameters (temperature and duration of the process) of plant biomass (wheat straw, common reed) on the properties of the obtained sorbents was studied. It was found that for both samples with an increase in temperature and an increase in the duration of the process, the sorption properties improve and the sorbent yield decreases (optimal parameter values are 260 оC, 60 minutes). The sorption properties of the obtained coal residues from wheat straw and common reed were studied: the sorption capacity for methylene blue is 359.1 mg/g and 275.0 mg/g, for phenol 67.1 mg/g and 5.9 mg/g, for iodine 18.3 mg/g and 25.6 mg/g, respectively. An assumption was made that the obtained sorbents will find application in mechanical engineering for wastewater treatment from heavy metal ions. The conducted studies to assess the applicability of coal residues for wastewater treatment from heavy metal ions showed that their sorption capacity for copper ions is 0.62 mg/g and 0.52 mg/g for coal residues from wheat straw and common reed, respectively.
