- Abstract
- This article examines the benefits and challenges of integrating digitalization and a process-based approach into a wastewater treatment management system. One of the key areas for the development of wastewater treatment management in the context of digitalization is the combination of a process-based approach and digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, the Internet of Things, and automated wastewater treatment process control systems. The article presents a general process map for a wastewater treatment management system developed with digital technologies in mind and based on the Structured Analysis & Design Technique (SADT).
