- Abstract
- The article describes a method for automatic recognition of spectra of analog and digital radio communication signals using Software Defined Radio (SDR) technology. An affordable RTL-SDR USB tuner based on RTL2832U and R820T chips is used for the experiments. Signal processing and implementation of recognition algorithms are performed in the GNU Radio software environment using the Core block package. To identify analog modulation types (AM, FM, PM), a method based on the integral narrowbandness criterion and the Hilbert transform for envelope extraction is proposed. Recognition of digital modulation types is carried out using the statistical features method, which analyzes the instantaneous values of amplitude, phase, and frequency of the signal. The architecture of the RTL-SDR receiver, principles of spectral analysis, and block diagrams of the implemented algorithms are presented. The efficiency of using open SDR technologies for solving radio monitoring tasks is demonstrated.
