- Abstract
- The potentials to increase natural-vibration frequencies, dissipation factors and relative dissipation powers for a large-size space antenna which includes a load-carrying composite bar were considered. Theoretical relationships for predicting torsion and bending antenna oscillations were derived. The paper presents the results of the numerical analysis on the variation of natural frequencies and energy dissipative properties for the two vibration modes corresponding to the lowest frequencies of the antenna which has a load-carrying bar made of a carbon fiber reinforced plastic with various reinforcing structures.
