- Abstract
- The possibility of using of nickel aluminides instead of nickel superalloys as a basis for the creation of high-temperature constructional composite materials (CM) was investigated. It was found that the use of mechanochemical synthesis (MS) and hot isostatic pressing for an alloy based on Ni3Al possible to obtain a microstructure consisting of ultrafine grains (2-5 microns) and nanographite (1-50 nm) at grain boundaries. Since nanographite at grain boundaries can not provide their strengthening, in further research is supposed to link nanographite to the carbides by the addition of carbide-forming elements by MS.
