- Abstract
- The effect of low circular waviness of the lateral surface of hypersonic vehicles in the form close to bodies of revolution on the aerodynamic roll moment under their supersonic flow at small angles of attack is considered. A case is described when the circular surface waviness of a carbon composite thermal protection coating is defined by a sum of two harmonics of different orders and amplitudes with a constant phase. The required condition of interaction efficiency for two harmonics with regard to the roll moment implementation was obtained. The task of estimation of the maximum roll moment value at the specified amplitude limitation of the waviness under consideration was formulated and solved. The results of direct numerical flow-field analyses (in the context of the Newton's theory, differential hypothesis of locality, for in viscid equations of Euler and averaged Navier-Stokes equations for compressible fluid) for a 10°-blunted cone with low waviness of the lateral surface are given.
