- Abstract
- The detector is proposed for monitoring of neutron fluency or neutron flux density in radiation tests. The elastic scattering of neutrons in hydrogen filling materials produces the recoil protons that are responsible for the registered signal. The method of calculation of detector sensitivity depending on neutron energy is presented. Results of calculations are in good agreement with the data of detector studies on a nuclear reactor. The design of detectors that provides effective suppression of gamma radiation response in fields of mixed gamma-neutron radiation is proposed. Detectors differ in simplicity of a design/operation and would find application when carrying out radiation tests of space technic.
