- Abstract
- This article presents software modeling and electrodynamic calculations of the Vivaldi antenna. The aim of the study was to study the methods of electrodynamic modeling to determine the characteristics and topology of the ultra-wideband Vivaldi S-band antenna. Methods of approximate solution of electrodynamic problems, such as the physical optics method (POM), the method of moments, and the homogeneous diffraction theory, were used. Scientific results of the study of methods of electrodynamic modeling, analysis of the characteristics of various types of apertures of slot ultra-wideband antennas, as well as experimental confirmation of the characteristics obtained during modeling, were obtained. It is concluded that the experimental data fully confirm the simulation results, and the application of the homogeneous diffraction theory method allows to determine the parameters of the antennas with high accuracy and optimize their design.
